In the motorcycle stunt show that is improv comedy performance, SEI “SKILLS” classes teach you to ride without crashing. Popping wheelies, jumping over busses and through rings of fire will come soon… but for now, grab a helmet, hop on and hold tight. You’re in for a whole new thrill ride!

Session: Winter (Mondays, 7-9pm, Jan 30th – March 5th) Build an understanding of the fundamental principles of theatrical/comedic improvisation. Exercises in voice & movement, being "front-footed", agreement and teamwork will help improve your awareness, build your confidence, and get you “out of your head” and into the moment.

Session: Spring 1 (Mondays, 7-9pm, March 12th – April 23rd) Some of the most recognizable improv comedy is know as Short-Form.  Pithy games, jokes, and scenes which driven by a quick wit and the keen eye and ear for comedic timing have helped in bringing the world of spontaneously inspired comedy performance to the masses.  A precursor to Long-Form Improv, this fast, zany and fun class gives a new respect and understanding of the work that was to follow.

Session: Spring 2 (Mondays, 7-9pm, May 12th – June 11th) Dive head first into the pool scenic improv; find out what works and why. This class encourages you to discover your own honest voice while maintaining a "group mind." Students will learn tips to create unique characters, initiate scenes, listen effectively and heighten the ideas of scenes as they happen.

Session: Summer (Mondays, 7-9pm, June 25th – July 30th) Playing at the top of your intelligence, discovering the importance of sincerity in your work and putting the support your team above all; Harold is the seminal structure for long-form improvisation that incorporates all of the developments and discoveries that came before it. It’s co-creator and original advocate Del Close also compared creating a Harold to building a 747 from scratch in mid-flight! It's both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.
